Costa Rica and Jamaica, which are in charge of the Committee and the Regional Representation, are being trained on Codex issues by the Secretariat and previous Coordinators with the aim of achieving greater unity in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

CCLAC ACTIVITIES
11-29-2011: On November 29 Costa Rica, acting as a Regional Coordinator of the Codex Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean, coordinated a videoconference which brought together experts from 18 different countries with the purpose of agreeing on issues of interest related to food hygiene which will be discussed in the next global meeting of the Codex Committee on Food Hygiene due to be held in Miami 5 - 9 December 2011.
11-29-2011: The Regional Coordinator of the Codex Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean (Costa Rica) and the Geographic Representative (Jamaica) finished today a working session carried out with the purpose of agreeing on specific actions which will improve their roles and will help to achieve greater unity in the Latin American and Caribbean region in relation to food standards governing international trade in food products.
*NEW FORMAT FOR COMMENTS ON CODEX DOCUMENTS*
The Codex Secretariat has informed that comments should follow the guidance in the attached documents to rationalize and speed up the translation and compilation of comments.
Considering that CCLAC has often made claims on these issues, we would appreciate it if all the region could take these guidance into account.
